… and we are committed to Credit Plus for Clients CASHPOR wishes to do its bit to ensure that BPL clients do not fail to come out of poverty nor fall back into it because of health or education deficits, and it allocates up to 25% of its profits in each District towards Credit Plus Services as follows: • CASHPOR distributes scholarships to meritorious students of clients, with the objective of keeping bright students in school, up to college level, if possible. • As of March 2009, 1301 scholars are being supported • A total of Rs 5,59,650 has been distributed in scholarships 2. CASHPOR is integrating health education with microfinance using the approach of Freedom from Hunger and the Microcredit Summit Campaign, which involves training female Center Managers to impart the health education to clients. In collaboration with the Healing Fields Foundation, we are identifying clients with the potential to be Community Health Leaders, and training them, in a pilot project in Buxar District of Bihar State. 4
