Additional District Transportation Routing Information • Seneca Falls has a late bus run (M-Th 3:05 and 4:00; Cady Stanton has 3:40 late run for extra help club; Waterloo has no late bus runs (MS & HS students that stay for extra help ride the elementary bus run home) • Seneca Falls transports to five BOCES centers: Flint, Marcus-Whitman, Newark, Mid-Lakes, Red Jacket; Waterloo transports to Red Jacket, Mid-Lakes, Newark, Rochester School for the Deaf, Norman Howard • Seneca Falls transports to St. Stephens, Seneca Bible Baptist, Finger Lakes Christian School; Waterloo transports to St. Francis, St. Stephens, Seneca Bible Baptist, Finger-Lakes Christian School, School of the Holy Childhood, County Line Parochial Castallo & Silky-Education Consultants

Additional District Transportation Routing Information • The longest in-district bus ride for any student in Seneca Falls is less than 45 minutes; in Waterloo it is less than 60 minutes • Seneca Falls has some walkers but all kindergarten students ride; Waterloo has walkers with the district policy of all K-2 students are bussed, grades 3-5 walk up to ½ mile, and students in grades 6-12 walk up to one mile from school. No systems are rated “non-functioning” or “critical failure”. • U=Unsatisfactory-Any system categorized as health and safety or structural rated “unsatisfactory”. No health and safety or structural system rated “non-functioning” or “critical failure”. • F=Failing-Any system categorized as health and safety or structural rated “non-functioning” or “critical failure”. Building Certificate of Occupancy may be rescinded.

  24. Capital Construction Plans Waterloo: No capital projects in the works. Closed Main Street School in 2011-12 and is currently deciding what to do with building. Seneca Falls: Currently in the midst of an $18 million project due to be completed in the fall of 2013. Castallo & Silky-Education Consultants

  25. Capital Project at Seneca Falls • Enhancing instructional space including Music & Performing Arts, Science, Art, PE, Library/Media Center and Technology. Plus, enhancements to PE & athletic facilities. • Health, Safety & Maintenance Improvements include expanding security features, renovate cafeterias & kitchens, door hardware, replace elementary playground, replace classroom sinks, replace hallway flooring, roof work, security lighting, and replace high school boiler. Capital Project at Seneca Falls • Energy efficiency to accommodate Seneca Meadows offer to provide free energy (heat and hot water), installing photovoltaic system of solar panels on Middle School’s roof, and all district lighting is being upgraded to be energy efficient. Tentative Facility/Grade Recommendation • Keep the current K-2 and 3-5 schools open in both districts with the existing attendance zones. • Send all students in grades 6-8 to a combined middle school in the current Seneca Falls MS/HS • Send all students in grades 9-12 to a combined high school in the current Waterloo MS/HS • Keep the merged district offices in the present Seneca Falls office location in the short term. • Maintain current two bus facilities. Space Availability: Historical Enrollments in MS & HS • Seneca Falls combined Middle and High School enrollments have declined from 786 in 2007-08 to 673 this year. • Waterloo combined Middle and High School enrollments have declined from 1,111 in 2007-08 to 996 this year. Space Availability: Projected Enrollments after Merger Conclusion: In 2014-15—the first year of a merger—all students (651) in grades 6-8 could be housed in the current Seneca Falls Middle/High School complex. Further, in 2014-15 all 9-12 high school students (944) could be comfortably housed in the current Waterloo Middle/High School facility. Castallo & Silky-Education Consultants
