  1. Zachary Dupin: Useful Tips for Getting Through Medical School Zachary Dupin is a current medical student at the University of Nevada School of Medicine. He started his education at the university in August of 2015, and he is well on track to graduate on time and with hishighly coveted medical degree. He already has a great deal of experience in the medical field, and has served as a volunteer in a number of capacities for the local medical centers in his area. Not only has he worked as a scribe in the emergency room, but he has also shadowed doctors as well, which giveshim a leg up on manyof his fellow students. Getting through medical school isn’t easy, as Zachary Dupin iswell awarenearing the start of his second year. It takes a great deal of work, dedication, and a strong desireto want to help others on a professional level in regards to medicine. Here are some useful tips for medical students, or undergraduates looking to medicine as a possiblefuture. Make sure you prepare while still in undergraduate school. If you truly want to be a doctor or physician in the future, you need to start preparing as early as possible. Your major in undergraduate school will directly relate to your future inmedicine, and what you choose to study will impact your ability to do well on the MCAT exam, and in medical school as a whole. Prepare as much as you can, as earlyas you can. In addition to preparing for your future early, you need to pick a focus while in medical school. Although medical students are required to learn all aspects of the field, you need to be thinking about a focus so that you know what residency programs to apply for once you’ve earned your degree. If you don’t havea focus by that point, your residency training could last a lot longer than it has to, which meansstarting your career later than expected. Finally, you need to develop relationships with your professors. Ifyou know your focus while in school, you can start to buildrelationships with professors also involved in that field; they will be able to help you prepare for your future, and possiblygive you tips, recommendations, and strategiesto be effectivelater on in your residency and beyond. Zachary Dupin is excited about his future in medicine, and he is working hard in order to achieve his goalsin the field. He wants to helping people medicallythe best he can.
