  2. Department Housekeeping Literacy Calendar focus is Main Idea & Annotation Literacy Calendar Assessment: 11/11-12/13 Final Tally for 1st Lit. Assessment: Data Chats & Cards are to be completed by Nov. 5th Continuing to order novels iPads will be checked out this week & next, email to follow

New Check-Out System JOHSLITERATURE.WORDPRESS.COM 1 page has resources; 1 is for text checkout The majority of books are located in the magazine room in the library, others will be stored elsewhere Text sets will be added as we get them Still expecting 2 per grade from the District… A report will be sent out at the end of each 9 weeks to get books back if they have not been returned Pretty much the same as we have now We can add our own novels, if we choose to

Grading for Learning Updates Here’s what I Learned at the Meeting: Every school is at a different place with this We are Way ahead of many schools The district may not be setting guidelines until ‘14 (or ‘15) Topics that will be studied this year include: AP/Cambridge/Dual Enroll., Very Low ELL & EE, standardizing across the district Here is what we need to do to best be prepared: Create a team to write a grading plan for JOHS Find consensus in our own grading policies by the end of the year Stop the negativity

  6. Grade Level Posters (Will Be shared at the next leadership meeting) 9 weeks assessment: Trends, glows, Grows, Changes to be made How accountable was your grade in (post-it): Creating the assessment Giving/grading the assessment Identifying skills & areas to be tested

  7. 2nd 9 weeks Unit Plans: Complete the sheet or turn in your completed unit plan (will be scanned in later) Share out; main text, supporting texts, and theme/essential questions
