  3. Criteria for Successful Research to Operations GOES-R Proving Ground meets the criteria • UWCI and Nearcastadapted for use in N-AWIPS. • This was non-trivial! Thank you for the effort. • Low clouds and fog to be implemented by mid-June.

  4. Schedule What happened? Where are the evaluations? • Begin: May 2010 (planning) • First products into testbed: July 2010 • Status report 1: September 2010 • Status report 2: December 2010 • Status report 3: March 2011 • Status report 4: June 2011 • End: September 2011 (evaluation/report)

  5. Schedule What happened? Where are the evaluations? • I was too optimistic • GOES-R was only thing in testbed when I left last year • Additional tasks quickly arrived • Two people giving part time to testbed • Unidata GEMPAK and NCEP GEMPAK aren’t the same

Evaluations • CI products evaluated this summer during Aviation Weather Testbed’s summer experiment • A component of a larger effort called Integrated Decision Support Experiments (IDSE) • Seeks to identify meteorologist role to air traffic control/management and safety of flight through used of state-of-the-art information
