4 Data GREEN SYNTHESIS OF SILVER NANOPARTICLES AND THEIR ANTI-ACNE POTENTIAL SeemaGarga and Amrish Chandrab a Amity Institute of Applied Sciences, Amity University, Noida, 201301, Uttar Pradesh, India b Amity Institute of Pharmacy, Amity University, Noida, 201301, Uttar Pradesh, India 1 Background 5 Conclusion • It is environmental friendly, simple and efficient. • NP’s are spherical in shape with size range from 5 to 50 nm. • AgNP’s - characterized using UV-Vis, XRD, TEM and FTIR spectroscopic techniques. • Effective against S. epidermidis as compared to Clindamycin gel control & Extract • The synthesized silver nanoparticles were seen to be stable due to the presence of proteins which act as capping agent and prevent the particle from aggregation. These nanoparticles were crystalline in nature. • These synthesized silver nanoparticles have various applications in biomedical field, medical and pharmaceutical applications as well as large scale commercial production. Acne vulgaris or acne is the most common chronic skin disease affecting nearly 80% of persons between ages of 11 and 35 years [1]. Anti-acne products have always been in great demand for treatment of acne; however, formulations containing synthetic drugs produce adverse effects. 2 Methods Phytochemical constituents of black pepper were employed for green synthesis of silver nanoparticles. Aqueous solution of AgNO3 was treated with black pepper corn extract and leading to reduction of silver ions into silver nanoparticles within 120 s with the aid of microwave. The nanoparticles formed were characterized by UV-vis spectrophotometer, TEM, XRD and FTIR [2] Bacterial culture of S. epidermidis was incubated with clindamycin gel (control), black pepper corn extract (Extract) and silver nanoparticle synthesized using aquous extract of black pepper corn (nanoparticle) 3 Results * References [1] R.G.
