  2. UNIT 1 • Course Description  - This course explores human behavior in organizations. Students examine individual behavior, attitudes, personality, values, perception, and emotions and how these affect organization outcomes. The course also looks at the theories, concepts, and application of motivation as well as the importance of stress management and professional ethics and etiquette. Students gain an understanding and appreciation for communication processes, channels, and styles. They also gain a set of organizational design tools.

Course Outcomes: By the end of this course, you should be able to: • MT302-1: Assess the impact of organizational behavior on business outcomes • MT302-2: Apply theories of motivation to increase employee performance • MT302-3: Explain the causes, symptoms, and coping strategies for stress • MT302-4: Evaluate the role of ethics and social responsibility in the context of organizational behavior • MT302-5: Explain the communication process and its relationship to employee effectiveness

  7. COURSE OVERVIEW WEEK 1 – The assignment for this unit is Case Incident 2: The Global Recession and Workplace Malfeasance (found at the end of Chapter One of your text). Please use the assignment template, which is provided in this unit only. It will give you an idea of the general format for subsequent assignments. • To successfully complete this assignment the instructor must be able to clearly identify where the answer for each of the four questions begins and ends. All four questions within this case incident must be completed. • Minimum page count required for this project is two to three pages of body text; this does not include the coverage or the references page.
