Where to Study • Anyone can be an author and a college degree isn't required in order to become one • Although, a degree in English or literature might help • DCU, UCD, DIT, NUI Maynooth, DKIT and most colleges would also have English courses.

Case Study - John Green • John Michael Green was born on the 24th August 1977 • He grew up in Orlando, Florida and attended Indian Springs High School which was a boarding school in Alabama. • He then attended Kenyon College where he double majored in English and Religious Studies. • He worked for Booklist Magazine as a publishing assistant and production editor while writing his first novel 'Looking for Alaska'. • Since then he has written 3 other solo books, and 2 collaborations with fellow young adult writers such as David Levithan and Maureen Johnson. • He has won many awards for his work such as the 2006, 2007 Michael L.
