  3. Government • Parliamentary with constitutional monarchy • The 3 branches are legislative, executive, and judicial • Political parties • Democratic party of Japan (DPJ) • Japan communist party (JCP) • Liberal democratic party (LDP)

ELECTIONS • They runners rely on the people who vote not the parties. • They have diets- houses in the system Upper half House of Councilors Lower half House of representatives • House of Rep. elect the prime minister which makes the laws • When the premier dissolves the Diet new members of the lower House are elected by the prime ministser.

  5. ECONOMY • Unemployment rate- 5.1 • Public debt- 225.8% • Exports $765.2 billion Motor Vehicles Semi conductors Electrical machinery Partners- China, US, South Korea, etc • Imports $636.8 billion Textile, chemicals, fuels, raw materials Partners-Saudi Arabia, US, Australia, Indonesia, etc
