Drawers • These drawers are in my house and they have line symmetry. The blue line going right down the middle represents the line of symmetry.Taken: 12:31January 1st 2012
This bench is upstairs in my guest-room. It too shows line symmetry right down the middle.Taken: 5:48 January 4th 2012
This Lemur is doing synchronized swimming on the carpet and is in a position of linear symmetry.Taken: 1:04 p.mJanuary 8th 2012
Chandelier • This chandelier shows line symmetry up and down through the middle. It is in the foyer of my house and shows no radial symmetry.Taken: 2:57January 7th 2012
Chair and table • The line of symmetry is right up the middle of this tale chair combo. It does not show radial symmetry.Taken: 1:10 p.mJanuary 8th 2012
Ipad 2 • Just as symmetrical as the iPad 1, the iPad 2 has line symmetry and radial symmetry if you can overlook the button and the camera. If you look at that blue line it shows the line of symmetry.Taken: 5:43 January 7th2012 Two counts of Symmetry180,360
Fan • This fan is a perfect example of an object with radial and linear symmetry. This fan has 5 blades and therefor the order is 5 and the rotation is in increments of 72.Taken: January8th 20126:30 The order is 5 and the rotation is 72,144,216,288 and 360.
Light Fixture • This light fixture has rotational but not linear symmetry because one light switch was up and the other was down. Therefor if you folded it over itself it would not be symmetrical. The order is two and the rotation is 180 and 360.
Playing Cards • This deck has playing cards with a unique pattern on the back of the card. This card has both rotational and linear symmetry with its complicated pattern. The order is 2 and the rotation is 180 and 360
Star • This is a star within a star within a star. It is not linearly but is rotationally symmetrical. It’s a really nice star and I don’t even know where it came from. Order is 2 and the rotation of this star is 180 and 360
