About the Diet • You eat 1200 calories per day • A set of numbered days on the diet and two “break” days • Eat half a grapefruit or a glass of grapefruit juice each meal • Very low- carb • Encourages the consumption of meat, eggs, and other foods that are rich in fat and protein • Restricts consumption or carbs by eliminating sugars, sweet fruits, vegetables, cereals, and grains

  4. History • Lose an average of 3-4 pounds over 12 weeks • Many people lost 10 pounds

  5. Is it healthy for teenagers? No • Teenagers should consume 6-7 servings of grain products where in this diet you cannot eat any. • We should consume 7-8 servings of fruits and vegetables, where this diet excludes any sweet fruits and all vegetables.
