About Connected Tennessee • Launched in 2007 as public-private partnership • Independent, not-for-profit organization • Platform neutral, provider neutral • Technology expansion through informed action • Statewide broadband mapping since 2007 • Residential & business research into adoption & use • Computers 4 Kids Program enables technology for disadvantaged youth • “Connected” community technology certification program
Along the Way… • Enlistment of over 2,700 broadband champions statewide • Facilitated strategic technology plans for all 95 counties • Generated over 11,000 individual broadband inquiries • Gathered data on 6,090 Community Anchor Institutions (schools, libraries, hospitals, etc.) • Donated over 4,300 new computers to disadvantaged TN youth • Placed 160 new printers in TN Boys & Girls Clubs • Enabled digital literacy training for over 90,000 Boys & Girls Club Youth
