  1. How to Build and Paint Citadel Miniatures for Warhammer Fantasy Battles.

  2. Let’s paint some High Elf Spearmen!

  3. First you’ll need a place to work and some tools. Clippers, files, glues, paints, and an assortment of brushes are all part of a Warhammer hobbyist’s toolkit.

  4. Menu • 1. Assemble • 2. Prime • 3. Paint • Back to Beginning

  5. 1. Use your clippers to remove each plastic model piece from its “sprue.” Next

  6. 2. File any rough edges or protrusions until smooth. Next

  7. 3. Use polystyrene cement to glue the pieces together. Next

  8. 4. Here’s a torso glued to its base. Next

  9. 5. Continue assembling until your figure is complete. Menu

  10. 1. Vigorously shake a can of white or black undercoat (depending on your subject) for at least 60 seconds. Next

  11. 2. Using short, even blasts, coat one side of the figure, and let it dry for three minutes. Next

  12. 3. Flip the figure over and paint another side until the figure is evenly covered in undercoat. Next

  13. 4. Once the entire figure is covered with an even undercoat, you’re ready to begin painting. Menu

  14. 1. Using a thick brush, apply a base coat of Citadel Colour paint. In this example, my son is painting the armor silver. Next

  15. 2. Next apply a coat of “wash” to color the recesses of the model, using a regular brush. Next

  16. 3. Using a fine brush, carefully highlight the details of the model. Next

  17. 4. Apply the same basecoat/wash/highlight process to each section/color of the model. (Not bad for a 12-year-old? ) Menu
