ICU - hardware • No Flight Model tested so far at ILT level • Operational significant differences with flight hardware: • Only one ICU in box (no redundant ICU) • ICU not (fully) capable of providing FCU power • In some cases smaller FIFOs for spectrometer interfaces • Different memory sizes • Boot firmware updated to version compatible with baseline for flight HIFI SVR Groningen 20-4-2006 - ICU-AVM/CFM/.. performance
ICU – software • Version 3 denotes flight software • Subversion 3.5 now being used for ILT • Major functions still not developed: • Most chopping spectroscopy modes • OB Software problems delayed DM testing by several weeks • Many OBS functions cannot be tested fully before delivery: • Developers lack realistic simulators • More delays expected when OBS bugs block testing • OBS consolidation effort has improved bug fix turnaround significantly with respect to DM HIFI SVR Groningen 20-4-2006 - ICU-AVM/CFM/.. performance
ICU – ILT results so far • ICU & OBS capable of supporting currently foreseen AOTs – but not yet demonstrated • Tuning of total receiver conceptually OK: • Tuning of individual subsystems tested with minor bugs • No end-to-end tune yet – cannot be done realistically with simulators • (Hardware) data rate limitations confine the AOT design, e.g.: • Maximum one (pair of) WBS readout per second • Maximum one full spectrometer set readout per four seconds HIFI SVR Groningen 20-4-2006 - ICU-AVM/CFM/.. performance
