  3. Modern Warfare 2 • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is a first-person shooter video game which was developed for the Xbox360, PS3 and Microsoft Windows Operating System. • Within 24 hours of its release the game had sold approximately 4.7 million copies worldwide

  4. Various news reports were broadcast on BBC talking about how MW2 was being sold to children under the age of 18 • This raised the question of whether ratings for games where actually being abided too. • Many younger children seemed to get a hold of the game regardless of its age rating

  5. On June 15th 2010, Activision stated that it had sold 20 million copies World Wide • Best selling game of all time in the UK • Second best selling game of all time in the US

  7. Black Ops • Release November 9th 2010 • Within 24 hours it had sold 7 million copies • 1.4 million in the UK • Total sales over 24 hours were up by 2.5 million when compared to MW2

  8. PS3 Slim • September 1st 2010 saw the release of the PS3 Slim which was much cheaper then its predecessor. • It clamed to be 33% lighter and quieter

Kinect (XBOX) • Kinect offers a “controller free” experience which is different from any other gaming console • Users interact via body movement, gestures and voice • The project was aimed at widening its market and competes with the Wii and PlayStation Move • It was launched on November 10 2010 in Europe

  11. Nintendo 3D • The Nintendo 3DS is a games console due to be released in Europe on March 25th • It claims it will give the effect of 3D footage without the need for the special glasses which are so commonly used.
