Analysis • Marlin is over protective. • Has a lot of scenes where he is frowning. • He is the way he is due to the tragedy at the beginning. • Coral seemed to be the strength and positive attitude for Marlin.
Analysis Cont. • Marlin tries to mix in with the crowd but the crowd doesn’t like him. • Marlin is over defensive because he never really left his “house” that much. • Loves Nemo dearly because that’s all he has.
Analysis Cont. • After Coral is gone things seem to get more gloomy, even the picture. • Right when Marlin thinks he has Nemo but doesn’t it isn’t gloomy.
Foil Character • Is a character who contrasts with another character in order to highlight particular qualities of the other character. • Foil character for Marlin was Nemo. • Nemo showed us how protective Marlin was. • Ex. When Nemo leaves the anemone to go to school.
Dynamic Character • Dramatic character who undergoes an important inner change, as a change in personality or attitude. • Marlin is a dynamic character. • At first he had some emotion baggage. • At the end he was more carefree.
