Timeline • RFP Issued 5-06-13 • Bidders Conference 5-15-13 • Proposal Due Date 6-07-13 • Proposals Opened 6-10-13 • Tentative Contract Award 6-21-13 • Contract Start Date 7-01-13 The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Lobbying is strictly prohibited. No bidder (including Board members, employees, or other agents) shall contact the Board members or staff after the release of the RFP to secure favorable treatment with regard to the awarding of a contract. Should such contact occur, the Board reserves the right to reject the offending bidder.
Purpose • Solicit competitive proposals to provide employment and training services for Youth activities under the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) in Region 11. • The Board anticipates awarding one or more contracts. • The Board reserves the right to award either performance based or cost reimbursement contracts at its discretion. • Contract is anticipated to commence on July 1, 2013 and end on August 15, 2013 with activities running July 8, 2013 – August 2, 2013.
Other • The Board strongly encourages bidders to create innovative programs specifically designed to meet the current and emerging workforce demands of the region’s businesses. • Appropriate services are provided. • Appropriate assistance for eligible Youth with partnerships to help impact Youth. • Anticipated funding PY13: $150,000 of WIA Funds • Funding may be adjusted up or down at discretion of Board.
Board’s Mission • Guidance to help youth succeed in school, at work, and as members and leaders of their communities. • Assistance for economically disadvantaged youth, aged 16 – 21, with education, training, and work experience, to create life-long learners who can obtain successful and satisfying careers. Create partnerships that demonstrate measurable, positive impacts on youth. • Strengthen worker readiness through education and attainment of work maturity and job skills.
Requirements • One original and three copies (marked “Copy”). Sealed envelope identifying what program(s) and counties the proposal covers. No faxed or emailed copies. • Received at Grow Southwest Indiana Workforce, 318 Main Street, Suite 504, Evansville IN by 4:00 p.m. Central Time on June 7, 2013. • Electronic copy must be included. • No hard covers or binders (removable clips are okay).
