  2. Town of Prešov is a significant economic and administrative center of Eastern Slovakia. Already in the past, historically since the urban rights, it focused management activities that had an impact on the surrounding towns and villages, initially only later on the whole region. This follows from its geographical location, since it is built at the crossroads of important trade routes.

  3. Through the territory of the city major international road and railway lines are towards the Polish and Ukraine. The closest cities are Košice,Užhorod , Miskolc, Tarnow, Budapest, Bratislava • The historical core of the city is a national cultural monument. • Torysa and Sekčov are riversoverflowingthroughPrešov.

  4. There are34 secondary schools in Prešov. Part of them is technically oriented with the possibility of adapting the curriculum according to the needs of investors. Students have the opportunity to study atEnglish school and gymnasium.

  5. Historyof city Three coats of arms of Prešov: The first coat of arms was granted free royal city of Prešov history Blogs (Pohrobok) in r. v. 1453. In the meantime, used the Prešov in an urban agenda with the symbol of the patron saint of the Church of St.Nicholas and a small seal with the symbol of the strawberries. Coat of arms of the r. 1453 consisted of a shield; in its upper part, there were three red roses in a silver field and at the bottom, alternately two red and two silver stripes.

The second coat of arms, which is actually only theupliftof the previous, awarded the city in 1548 from the Habsburg King Ferdinand i. r. for the support which he has provided in the fight against his rivals John Zápoľskýin a match for the throne.   7. The coat of arms consists of a shieldquartering. In his first and fourth field is pictured in the blue field a Golden on the pillar is backed by a lion, in second and third, a silver field repeats the sign from the previous coat of arms: a black eagle with a limed twig, melt strawberries. To shield rests a silver tournament helmet with Golden coveringsand Gold Crown. The jewel is a Golden Gryphon , holding in the right and left in the clutches of the sword with a Crown with three red roses. Media Shield is made up of two Angels with Lily, right with gold and left with silver wings. This coat of arms the city used the longest, up to 70. years of our century.

  8. Saltpans in Prešov Salt pans in Prešov, national monument belongs among the most important technical monuments in Slovakia. It is a unique complex of technical objects for pumping and cooking salt from brine, originating from 17thcentury.
