HACK FOR A!R “48 HOUR” HACKATHON
What happened? • The HACK FOR A!R 48 hour “Hackathon” event organized by Interactive Beijing, Makerspace and Intel Labs attracted 150+ attendees on its opening day on July 5th, Friday evening. Poor air quality in China remains a pressing topic which leg to 8 developing Hackathon teams. • Included more than 20+ IT experienced developers(programmers, progressive hackers) and more than 15+ product designers, architects and environmental policy makers. • Results included functioning mobile apps or prototype machines to bring awareness to the state of our air- all in a matter of 48 hours.
HACK FOR A!R TEAM 1 • “Lets Mask” iPhone app masks you instantly!
HACK FOR A!R TEAM 2 • “FIND CLEANEST AIR” Gesture controlled bicycle game to hunt for clean air. The next step is connection to Google bicycle navigation system, to lead to most efficient route!
HACK FOR A!R TEAM 3 • “Smart Pot”: • Which is connecting plants with each other, if a plant is missing something, it alarms its friends.
HACK FOR A!R TEAM 4 • “Air Whistle” Bird backpack with GPS + GSM + Air Quality sensor to produce app about air condition. To give the bird a break, such a quad copter “OpenDrone” can take the air whistle backpack.
HACK FOR A!R TEAM 5 • “A!R Emotion” Android app that gives air quality a face.
HACK FOR A!R TEAM 6 • “CL-Air” :A cleaver cloud of clean air. A real balloon that changes the color according to air quality and if someone takes a photo, it gets linked into the CL –air social cloud network to share ideas with other who share the awareness.
HACK FOR A!R TEAM 7 • “ooXX” Wearable display that shows the tendency of the PM2.5 development.
HACK FOR A!R TEAM 8 • “Window AirBot” is a robot with an artistic message. He walks on windows and knocks on it when the PM2.5 levels are too high.
