  2. Type of business entrepreneurship • 3 Forms • Sole Proprietorship • Partnership • Corporation

  3. Sole proprietorship This is a form of business entrepreneurship which is operated and owned by one person or a family.

  4. Partnership Is a business organization which operated by two or more person.

  5. Corporation This is made of individuals in association which is organized in consonance with the existing law of the state.

  6. Type of stock • Two General types of stocks • Prepared/Capital stock • Common stock

  7. Prepared stock or capital stock This is a certificate of corporation as evidence of a part of ownership in corporation.

  8. Common stock This is a participating capital which is entitled to shares in profit.

  9. Organization of retaining enterprise • Big or small retail enterprises have a same structural organization. The basic departments or division are: • Finance and Control • Personnel • Store Management • Merchandising Division • Publicity Department

  10. Finance and Control Adequacy of funding and the efficient control of the system and assets are elements of a sound management of a retail enterprise.

  11. Personnel Department This department is usually headed by a personnel director or manager. It is the objective of the department to provide a adequate costumer service, to maintain workers efficiency

  12. Store Management This department is charge with various responsibilities such as care of the building or maintenance, sanitation, purchase of supplies, proper display, clerk, and sale purse.

  13. Merchandising Department This department is charged which responsibility of determining what merchandise are actually demand for a certain business season of the year.

  14. Publicity Department This department is charge with the responsibility of advertising.

  15. Needed to Start a Retail Business Sanitary Permit – This permit is issued by the health office of the city.

  16. Needed to Start a Retail Business Fire Department Permit – this is required to safeguard the community from fire hazards.

  17. Needed to Start a Retail Business City Electrician – this permit is usually required in a city where electricity is used.

  18. Needed to Start a Retail Business Mayor’s Permit - is issued allowing the business to operate.

  19. Relevant Taxation The business operation of any retail enterprise cannot be lawful started without paying the privilege tax.

  20. Contracts and Other Legal Matters Certain legal matters are very important that a prospected retail entrepreneur must familiarize himself before starting the business.
