Lessons learned from past collaborative projects from WFOs • More regular comments/updates/exchanges between PIs and WFOs is needed – quarterly meetings at NCSU was mentioned in the proposal. • Several offices mentioned that without updates, an out of sight/out of mind scenario set up. • Identify ways that WFO’s can contribute for each project, they want to help, just need to be given instruction and opportunity.
Lessons learned from past collaborative projects from WFOs • A timeline highlighting the goals and expectations for each of the projects would be helpful • Recruit collaborative investigators at the WFOs to provide regular input and support – long list of interested people has been generated.
Planned Communication and R2O (from the proposal) • Utilize collaborative investigators • Recorded presentations • Student and PI visits to NWS regional offices • Regularly scheduled interactions between university and NWS • Quarterly meetings at NCSU including faculty, PIs, students, and NWS • Additional workshops and presentations
