  2. Project Goals • Develop team’s web design experience and skills • Work together to learn from each other • Develop a fully functional webpage for the LSC • Expand exposure for the LSC through the website

  4. LSC Background • MISSION • The LSC is a caucus organization that serves to unite Latino organizations across campus • Creates greater sense of community and unity

  5. LSC Background • The LSC is a young RSO founded in Spring 2001 by Michael Gonzalez of Alpha Psi Lambda. • The LSC needs a website to create a holistic view of the Latino organizations on campus.

  6. Webpage Key Points • Profiles, bios, and the contact information of each of the members of this organization • Links to the organizations that make up the LSC • LSC mission statement and goals • Calendar of events along with a description of the activities, issues, and projects the LSC is working on • Guestbook • Pictures of events and members

  7. Webpage Design • We will be using Dreamweaver to design and form the pages. • We are using personal computers (as opposed to Macs). • We are attending web design workshops such as Dreamweaver and HTML to enhance our knowledge.

  8. Disadvantages • Our experience of web design on the team includes one intermediate, one amateur, and two novices. • Learning the new techniques of web design could be a challenging proposition.

  9. Advantages • We can work together and learn from each other. This process has already begun • We can diffuse the tasks and specialize into certain web design aspects. • For example, someone could specialize on figuring out the workings of the guestbook while someone else works on special graphics or logos.

  10. Project Ideas • We will be looking at similar web pages to determine what kinds of designs work well. • We will be talking to previous webmasters of coalition type organizations to see what their member input has been like. • We will talk to current LSC members to get input as to what they want on their web page.
