STRONG BODIES NEEDED FOR HARD WORK • With every year children are becoming weaker because there is less and less physical activity embedded within the structure of their day. • Kids need to be able to handle the physical demands of school in order to make the most academic progress.
Think outside of the chair • Kneel • 1/2 kneel • Stand • Spend time on tummy • Sit on a ball • Hands and knees • Move!
Things you can do now to help your child’s skills • Draw pictures and color • Puzzles • Play-doh, Lego blocks or building toys • Ball games, running, jumping, playing • Crafts (painting, cutting, gluing) • Work on independence with dressing • Have kids help with putting toys away
