Why La Casita Needed Aloha Info. System • History of Aloha • Security • Efficiency • Continuity
How does the ordering system work? • There are 2 computer terminals next to the bar, 2 behind the bar, and 2 in the kitchen. There are, also, printers by all computers. • Server rings in the order, which is then printed in the kitchen, so the cooks can start preparing the food. • Putting orders in this way saves time and employees don’t have to deal with problems like handwriting and spelling. • Computer system stores everything, information can be pulled up anytime. • The system automatically updates specials for the day and also notifies if the restaurant is out of product.
Missing an Opportunity • As a business a goal to become more efficient is always a priority. La Casita currently does not have any of their Technology systems communicating with each other. We propose joining the website, food orders, ordering of products, and general business like payroll into one operating system. Creating an opportunity for management to increase their own productivity.
Linking all the IT together • Scheduling and ordering online for food products can be linked to the computer system the restaurant already uses, in order to make it more efficient. • La Casita restaurant doesn’t do predicting – they just have a general idea of busy times and build-up their workers throughout the day. • Forecasting software that will help them be more prepared.
Forecasting Currently La Casita does not use any formal way of forecasting future demand. We recommend that they use an information system to help forecast sales and staff employees. Some of the solutions we found are: They could go through Radiant Systems (their current Aloha POS system provider) and have a single solutions provider to help with this technology need. They offer a suite of back office software products. This software allows restaurants to gain greater control and reduce operating costs. This product helps manage inventory levels, maintain labor schedules, enhance accounting and payroll processes, and simply plan according to business needs. There are many different providers of forecasting software out there if they chose not to go through Radiant. (Squirrel Systems, HotSauce, ORTEC, MICROS just to name a few.
