  2. “I realize the success that I have had is truly a blessing. One thing I’ve always wanted people to realize is, I’m just a regular guy who grew up in the projects. I used to play ball and sometimes get into trouble just like everyone else. But now I own my own record label. With that in mind, I think anybody growing up in the projects can identify with my story and say, “I can achieve that too!” I would love for every kid to be able to see my success as something achievable. SC | FOUNDATIONSHAWN CARTER FOUNDATION Since 2003 - • $1.1 Million awarded in scholarships to disadvantaged youth • 750 students’ dreams of going to college fulfilled • 495 students attended college tours and most earned on-the-spot admissions to historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs).

SC | FOUNDATIONSHAWN CARTER FOUNDATION 2011 CARNIVAL AT PIER 54 • The Concept: “Making the Ordinary Extraordinary” • We are creating an extraordinary experience at Pier 54 by bringing carnival and urban block party elements to a historic outdoor space designed to connect worlds and people together. • In this rare event, different worlds will be joined at Pier 54 to produce a whole far greater than its parts. In essence, through this fundraiser, we are collectively bringing to life what the Shawn Carter Foundation aims to do: be at the center of connecting worlds that help “ordinary” people become their “extraordinary” selves. • Join us at Pier 54 and connect with a great cause.

  13. OTHER WAYS TO PARTNER & LEND SUPPORT • There are many ways you can support the work of the Shawn Carter Foundation.
