About the Workshop Proverbs were used as creative prompts for the writing of illustrated stories.
Objectives • Write a story which ends with a proverb • Illustrate the story in six scenes • Read and show your story to others
Materials • Student sample stories to serve as models • Readings (handouts) • Poster board • Coloring pencils or crayons • Rulers • Paste
Pre-writing activities • Reading about the crying Buddha • Showing of wooden image of the crying Buddha • Reading about the history of proverbs • Sample illustrated stories
Conclusion • Sharing their stories through reading and a Gallery Walk
