Rating President Obama Citizens’ Perspective TallahasseeVoices is a pro bono internet survey panel sponsored by Kerr & Downs Research, which thanks media partners, WCTV, WFSU‐FM, the Tallahassee Democrat for covering citizens’ voices as expressed through TallahasseeVoices. Survey was conducted in October 2010; 545 of the 6,000 panel members responded. Results were weighted to reflect the demographics of the 90%+ local residents who have access to the internet at home, work, or school. Leon County residents give President Obama a “C” for his job performance • Liberals give President Obama a “B” • Conservatives give Obama an “F” • Moderates give Obama a “B-” • 24% of liberals, 29% of moderates and 1% of conservatives give the president an “A”
Why did you give the president this grade? • Because he inherited an absolute mess from the previous administration and has done the best he could under such dire circumstances. • Economically irresponsible. Catering to far left wing and spending time on less important issues. I think he displays anti-American sentiments to those we need to be strongest against in supporting our ideals of basic human rights and democracy. • He's been unable to accomplish what was promised, which isn't anything new among presidents. I'm just really disappointed that the public option was dropped from the healthcare bill with very little fight. Without it, I fail to see the point. • He hasn't done anything or brought about the "change" he promised during his campaign. • I feel he has some good programs and has accomplished quite a bit given the stonewalling the Republican members of the Senate and House have done. I feel the President is trying to do the right thing for the country. • He was able to accomplish a lot in such a challenging time. For instance, passage of the health care reform is a huge success and he is trying to be inclusive as much as possible.
