  2. BismillahAr-RahmanAr-Raheem In the name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful Ar-Rahman=most Gracious (giving) Ar-Raheem=most Merciful (forgiving)

  3. AlhamdulillahiRabbilAlamin Praise be to Allah, Lord of all of the worlds Alhamdulillah = all praise is for Allah Rabb= Lord Alamin= all that exists (man, jinn)

  4. Ar-Rahman Ar-Raheem The most Gracious, The Most Merciful Ar-Rahman Ar-Raheem are two of Allah’s 99 Names. Knowing His names helps us know Allah better.

  5. MaalikiyaumidDeen Master of the Day of Judgment Maaliki = master Yaum = day

  6. Iyyaaka na’abudu wa iyyaaka nasta’een You alone we worship You alone we ask for help Ibadah = worship

  7. Ihdinassiraatalmustaqeem Guide is to the Straight Path Sirat = path Mustaqeem = straight

  8. Siraatal ladheena an ‘amta alahim The path of those who have earned your favor Siraat = path

  9. Ghairilmaghduubi' alaihim waladaaleen. Not of those who have earned Your anger or gone astray.

  10. Aameen Ameen. Hadith: “When a person says ameen the angels also say Ameen and if his Ameen coincides with the Ameen of the angels his previous sins will be forgiven”(Bukahri)

  11. Allah talks to us as we recite • Abu Huraira heard Prophet Muhammad say that Allah had said, " I have divided the prayer into two halves between me and my servant, and my servant will receive what he asks."

  13. When… Allah says: My servant has praised me  We say: • All Praise is for Allah, Lord of the Worlds

  14. When… Allah says: My servant has praised me again  We say: • The Most Gracious, Most Merciful

  15. When… Allah says: My servant has glorified me  We say: • Master of the Day of Judgment

  16. When… Allah says: This is between my servant and me. My servant will get what he asks. We say: • You alone we worship, you alone we ask for help

  17. When… Allah says: This is for my servant, and my servant will get what he asks for. We say: • Guide us to the straight path…
