  1. Jimmy Hoffa By: Cameron Haywood

  2. Early Life • Jimmy Riddle Hoffa was born on February 14th, 1913 in Brazil, Indiana. • His father died while he was seven years old, his family then moved to Detroit in 1924. • JH at the age of 17 was forced to work at a loading station in a food warehouse where working conditions were bad. • 1932 JH led a strike which was successful enough to higher wages.

  3. The Teamsters • 1932 JH was assigned as a Teamsters union organizer. • The teamsters are a union that represents truck drivers and those in the trucking industry. • These guys meant business (firebombs) • After JH was in this union for a while he became known for his strikes and as the guy who would get in your face and bust your head open (24 hrs. jailed 18 times)

  4. The Teamsters • 1952 JH was elected international vice president, 5yrs later he was elected president of the organization • 1957 he was under government investigations for ties with the mafia, JH responded with, “These organized crime figures are the people you should know if you're going to avoid having anyone interfere with your strike, and that's what we know them for.....We make it our business, and the head of any union who didn't would be a fool." • 1964 JH was convicted for Fraud, jury tampering, etc. his sentence was 13yrs at Lewisburg , Pa (lost his president role) but paroled by President Nixon in 1971.

  5. Start of his disappearance • JH after being paroled wanted to be president again but many people didn’t agree especially the mobsters who ran the union. • July 30th1975 he was to meet Anthony Provenzano and Anthony Giacolone at Machus Red Fox in Michigan, neither showed up, and then Jimmy Hoffa was found to be gone in the morning.

  6. Charles O’Brien • This is the beginning of all the conspiracies. His best friend set him up to go “on a ride” that night of the meeting. He was the only person close enough with JH to get him to go. • Proof of this was there were blood specks and hair strands found in his car.

  7. Detroit Meat Goes Bad • This theory states that JH was taken to a meat Processing plant where he was tortured (fingernails, hair charred) • After that they put him through a meat grinder and left for the dogs to finish him.

  8. The New York Giants • This theory states that after JH was murdered and then he was mixed with the concrete that was used to construct The New York Giants stadium in East Rutherford.

  9. 55 gal drum • This theory says that JH’s body was put in a 55 gal drum and carted away in a Gateway transportation truck and nobody knows where this truck was going.

  10. Still today • Hoffa’s body was never found to this day. Although he was named legally dead in 1982, his case remains open with more than 16,000 pages of documents still in progress.
