  15. Our TK/Kindergarten Program • Early Bird TK/Kindergarten begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 1:00 p.m. • Lunch: 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. • Late Bird TK/Kindergarten begins at 9:30 a.m. and ends at 2:00 p.m.

Snack and Lunch • Nutritious snack: fruit, crackers, yogurt (provided by families) • School lunches provided every day (must apply for Free or Reduced lunch fee or pay full cost $3.50) • Outdoor supervised free play • 3 B’s practiced: Be Safe, Be Responsible, Be Respectful • Socialization and problem solving skills are developed

Library and PE Students visit library once a week where they: • Listen to stories: learn and understand the plot, main idea and make predictions • Select and check out a book of their choice Students have PE twice weekly: • 30 minutes with PE specialist • Gross motor skills are developed • Hand/eye coordination are enhanced

Albany Children’s Center Before and After School Care Fee and Registration Information After registering at the District Office, come to the Albany Children’s Center to complete the Waitlist application Contact ACC after you get your school assignment • Pick up enrollment packet • Meet with Director ACC has full fee and sliding fee scale program options based on income eligibility.

Frequently Asked Questions • Transitional Kindergarten children turn 5 years old between October 2nd and December 1st. • Kindergarten children need to be 5 years old by October 1st. • Notification of school assignment will be mailed between mid-July and early August (for those registering Feb 4- March 22). • Contact each school individually to request a tour. • Each site conducts an orientation before school starts. • Classroom assignments will be posted the week before school starts.

  29. Student’s Information Enter student’s name, birthdate, grade level or program to register this student. For Transitional Kindergarten, select Albany Children’s Center

  30. Residency Enter your address here If you live outside of Albany, you must apply for an inter-district transfer from your district of residence (DOR). Once we receive the approved application from your DOR, your student’s name will placed on our waiting list If space is available, you will be contacted, but not until after the first two weeks of school.

  31. School Selection Your request for a preferred school site is not guaranteed. You may select your preferred school site, but school assignment is based on space availability, not proximity to your home address. Registrations completed during the priority enrollment (February 4 – March 22) period will placed at your preferred school. If there are more requests for a school/schedule than space available, a lottery will be held.

  34. Student Information, cont’d As you enter information – certain fields must be populated. Select “Yes” if you want access to the Parent Portal – an email address is required. Make sure to select “No” for anyone that you do not want to grant Parent Portal access, otherwise they will receive all school communication.

  35. Immunizations All immunizations must be entered – your application will not be accepted if this section is left blank or incomplete. 4 doses DTP/Tdap/Td/DT and Polio 2 doses Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) 3 doses Hep. B 1 dose Varicella or physician documented disease history

  36. Almost to the end Previous Enrollment Info School Permissions You may have previous enrollment information if your child attended TK in another school district, if not you can skip this section.

  37. Finally… Once you reach this page, you can review your application and edit your information. You must click “Finish and Submit” in order for your application to be sent. Once you click “Finish and Submit” you can not go back to make any corrections.

  38. One last thing… You can always stop the application and finish later by logging back into you account and click on the link next to the student’s name.
