  2. Amazing Grace • The means of salvation was provided solely by God’s Grace. • “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8,9)

  3. Amazing Grace • What does the sinner deserve? Hell! • Ezekiel 18:20 • Revelation 20:14,15 • Jesus died in place of the sinners. • Romans 3:23-26 • Romans 5:6-11 • His gift was “not of works.” • Ephesians 2:9

  4. Amazing Grace • If works save, reward is of debt. • Romans 4:1-5 • The Law of Moses required perfect works. • Romans 3:27,28 • Law could not take away sin. • Hebrews 10:1-4 • Abraham is the “Father of Faith” to Jews and Gentiles. • Romans 3:29-31

  5. Amazing grace Grace Accessed by Faith! • Access to God’s grace is solely by faith. • Romans 5:1,2 • But not “faith only.” • James 2:24 • Faith that saves is faith that obeys! • Hebrews 11:7(Noah) • Hebrews 11:8(Abraham) • Hebrews 11:29(Red Sea) • Hebrews 11:30(walls of Jericho)

  6. AmazingGrace Grace Accessed by Faith! • Faith obeys the “works God ordained.” • Ephesians 2:10 • Belief and baptism • Mark 16:16 • Repentance and baptism • Acts 2:38 • Why? • Romans 6:3,4(Death) • Acts 22:16(Wash away sins) • Galatians 3:26,27(into Christ)
