A little bit about Mrs. Bush • I grew up in a rural town in Iowa and lived there until I moved to Utah 4 years ago with Mr. Bush! • I thoroughly enjoy camping, running, kayaking, being outside, reading and most of all dancing! • In the classroom I enjoy joking around and making learning fun! • I love teaching Math!
What can you look forward to in 6th Grade? • D.A.R.E. • Egyptian Day • Tutor Time (Beginning 2nd term) • 6th Grade Math Groups • Medieval Fair • Team Building/Team Work • Tinikling • Rotations
Behavior Management • I believe students get to choose their choices! Those choices have consequences! You get to decide if that consequence is positive or negative! • Please feel free to look at Syracuse Elementary Policies! (Click Here) • Positive Consequences • When you’re caught choosing good choices you will get verbal praise and receive tickets. • A few tickets are drawn daily for prizes. There will also be class stores each term to buy items with tickets!
Behavior Management (continued) • Negative Consequences • 1st offence will result in a verbal warning • 2nd occurrence will result in a discussion with Mrs. Bush • 3 or more occurrences will result in being removed from the classroom (missed work will not be able to be made up). There will also be a phone call to parents, a note sent home or an email sent to parents.
Attendance • Attendance is VERY important! • I understand illnesses happen, but please help your student to be at school as often as possible! • If a student is absent for any reason, the student is responsible for getting make up work. • The first bell rings at 8:40, the late bell rings at 8:50 and dismissal is at 3:25
Our Tentative Class Schedule… • Please allow for flexibility by remembering that things come up from time to time.
Communication • There are a few ways to contact me. I feel communication is key for a student’s successful education! • Email: abush@dsdmail.net (this is the best way to communicate with me) • Phone: (801) 402-2600 (leave a message with our secretary and I will get back to you as quickly as possible) • Planner (feel free to just jot a note in your student’s planner)
