Scope • ExPORTER is a database of research projects funded by NIH and several other agencies, along with the projects’ results (publications and patents citing federal project support) • In addition to NIH-funded research, RePORTER contains research funded by the: • Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) • Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) • Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) • Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) • U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and • U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)

ExPORTER Data Fields • Research Project Information • Project title and abstract • Principal investigator • Funded institution • Administrative information • Funding amounts • Research area and disease categorization (NIH only) • Publications • Paper title • Author(s) and affiliation • Bibliographic citation • PubMed and PubMed Central identifiers • Patents • Patent Title • USPTO patent number

ExPORTER Files • Downloadable files in XML and CSV formats at http://ExPORTER.nih.gov • Project Files • All project information except abstracts • Project Abstract Files • With project key to link to project files • Patent Files • With project key to link to project files • Publication Files • Link tables • Contain project keys and PubMed IDs to create the many:many relationships between projects and publications
