Issues related to the organization of gender sensitization training Before the training, carry out a needs assessment Select the right trainers and facilitators that can get the message across to statisticians. Importance of gender balance in the selection of trainers and facilitators, and participants
On the content of the training – 1/2 Introduction on milestones in gender and gender statistics at international (Beijing Conference, MDGs) and regional level (e.g.,decisions taken at EU Council meetings). Identify key issues before the training and set up clear objectives and activities that support the overall training objectives at the beginning of the workshop
On the content of the training – 2/2 Provide data that can inform policies and thus make statisticians satisfied. Specify what gender sensitization means: make people aware of the different realities of women and men and their different impact in society and its development. Ultimately participant should be made aware of the need to make changes.
