Example HW response Sample HW Question: What should a complete and fabulous HW response look like? Key terms to use in your answer: thorough, topic sentence, explain, own words (Obviously your HW questions will be based on your textbook reading…although this one is not)
My sample response A complete and fabulous HW response begins with a topic sentence that refers back to the question. I know that a thorough HW response explains what is written in the textbook in a detailed way. A complete response is also written in my own words, as I know that I learn the information better when I write it in a way I can understand and refer back to. A complete response is never one sentence and usually has several facts. I have used and explained the key terms Ms. Greenberg listed on my HW assignment in a thorough (complete and detailed) way because they all are important to answering the question.
HW #1: Sample response Cleisthenes and Periclesboth did much to strengthen democracy in Athens. While there was a limited democracy in Athens before Cleisthenes came to power, he greatly expanded to a full democracy by giving a voice to both rich and poor in the assembly. He also allowed citizens to propose their own laws for debate and created the council of 500 which represented all levels of society. Pericles expanded democracy by making more positions for public officials and paying citizens to be on juries. This formed a direct democracy, in which all people participated in making laws. In my opinion, Cleisthenes did more to strengthen democracy in Athens, because, although only 1/5 of Athenian residents had any power under Cleisthenes, he created systems under which democracy could expand. There is a topic Sentence Key terms from HW sheet are used. All parts of the question are answered
