  2. Georgia’s Formation • Georgia became a colony in 1732. • James Oglethorpe and about 2,800 emigrants landed in Savannah, Georgia.

  3. Inhabitants of Georgia • Most of the people who came to Georgia were people from Germany, Switzerland, and Scotland.

  4. Environmental Factors • Georgia’s soil condition varied from time to time considering that the summers were really hot and the winters were really cold.

  5. Agriculture • Georgia’s main agricultures were; tobacco, indigo, rice, and cotton.

  8. Georgia’s Industry • Georgia’s main industry was the silk industry.

  9. James Oglethorpe • James Oglethorpe was the founder of Savannah, Georgia. He came here to help the imprisoned debtor’s in England.

  10. Eli Whitney • Eli Whitney was the man who created the Cotton Gin to increase the productivity of cotton.
