    1. Colloquialism An informal expression that is more often used in casual conversation than in formal speech or writing. Also referred to as lingo, slang, or vernacular Colloquialisms can be as simple as words and phrases such as: Gonna for going to Y’all for you all ‘Sup? For What’s been happening?

Colloquialism Or, colloquialisms can become a little more abstract… In the 80s, kids at my school talked about “bustin’ a move.” In the 90s, kids at my school listened to Trevor Smith “bustin’a rhyme.” Now in the 00s, kids at my school talk about “bustin’ a cap.” This world is definitely whack.
