  2. Horizon Moving Systems Please explain how you believe your business has demonstrate good business practices. The Business of the Year should exemplify the best of the best, whose management and staff are dedicated to excellent customer service, improving employee morale, generating recognition as a good place to work and enhancing the company’s image as a good corporate citizen. • Our mission statement of caring people committed to: • Excellence in customer service • Continuous employee improvement and growth • Ethical business practices • Supporting our communities Says it all. We received the Customer Choice Award from United Van lines in our category from 105 agents participating nationwide as providing the highest level of quality service for the entire year. Our score was 9.6 out of 10. We promote from within whenever possible and provide training both initially as well as when new technology, processes are created to ensure our internal assets have the ability to not only meet, but also, exceed, our customers’ expectations. In the past four years, we have honored two of our employees, Denise Decker and Mike Duarte, as Employee f the Month for the Sierra Vista Noon Rotary. And in 2006, our very own Jennifer Cromer was recognized with the highest honor United has for Move Coordinators as the Move Coordinator of the Year in our category of 105 agents participating in nationwide as the BEST OF THE BEST!

  3. We were awarded the first ever Southeastern Arizona BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU award in 2003 for being recognized for ETHICAL BUSINESS PRACTICES. Please explain how your business has demonstrated community support and involvement. Management and staff should be dedicated to giving back to the community and have supported a number of non-profit and charitable organizations. We gave back over 500 hours of back to our community in 2008 to various organization such as Good Neighbor Alliance, Habitat for Humanity, The Forgach House and Domestic Crisis Shelter, the Sierra Vista Regional Center Hospital Foundation. Buena High School, Cochise College Business Owners Success Strategies, and the list goes on and on. This does not include the Thousands of Dollars in direct donations. In addition, our management has served as President of the Benson Rotary and Chamber of Commerce, the Membership committee of the Greater Sierra Vista Area Chamber of Commerce as well as Chairman of the Board in 2005 ─ 06; board member of the Hospital Foundation and Business Issues Committee at Cochise College.

Explain how your business ‘shops local’ and supports other local businesses: Horizon Moving Systems of Sierra Vista, Inc. is locally incorporated and has been a local Sierra Vista company for over 43 years. We continue to support local vendors such as Office Smart, Leo’s Competition Tire, Barnett’s Propane, Newman Glass, Monty’s Motors, Pro Office Solutions, Antonio’s Cleaning, Gas City, Dove Security, Ace Hardware, Romisco Signs, The Mesquite Tree Restaurant, Sierra Vista Pest, Mack’s Auto Parts, Truck and Trailer Parts, AD Furniture Repair, Specialty Advertising Lines, Sierra Vista Flowers, Globetrotter Travel, and many others. We find that using local businesses for most our operational requirements is very important and provides a high quality of support to our employees and customers. This community can be proud of the exceptional level of customer service and quality of goods our local businesses provide. Even though Horizon is affiliated with four other Horizon Agencies in Arizona, over 90 percent of our expense are paid out to local businesses. Horizon also, regularly refers our customers to local businesses whenever possible.
