MS in Library and Information Science from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (1998), MA in East Asian Studies from Saint John’s University, New York (1991). She is Associate Museum Librarian of the Thomas J. Watson Library of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and has been working for the library since 1998. CEAL -- CCM -- March 25, 2010

MLS from the Catholic University of America (2001), MA in International Education from the George Washington University (1992).  She has been working as the Chinese Librarian for the Freer/Sackler Galleries Library, the Smithsonian Institution, since 2001.   7. Committee on Chinese Materials Guest Speaker Susan Xue. Head of Information and Public Services and Electronic Resources Librarian, C. V. Starr East Asian Library at UC Berkeley. Before joining in UC Berkeley libraries, She had worked in various library settings in the US, Canada and China. She obtained BA and MA degree in political science from People’s University in China in 1982 and 1985, and MLIS degree from the University of Western Ontario in 1993. Her research interests are in the area of government publications from China and US, electronic information resources, and information policy. CEAL -- CCM -- March 25, 2010

  8. Committee on Chinese Materials Guest Speaker Hong Cheng. Chinese Studies Librarian at the UCLA East Asian Library. Before coming to UCLA, he was the Library Director at the Art Institute of California, Los Angeles, for over seven years. In addition to the MLIS program in library and information science from UCLA in 1994, his academic background includes MA and Ph.D. degrees in history, also from UCLA in 1988 and 1990. He earned BA and MA degrees at Fudan University in 1982 and 1986. His research focus is in history, specifically modern Chinese history and socio-economic history, as well as global scholarly communication in the field of information studies. Committee on Chinese Materials Guest Speaker Ming-sun Poon got his MLS from UC Berkeley and PhD from University of Chicago.  He is a Reference Librarian in the Asian Division, Library of Congress, chiefly responsible for the administration of QuestionPoint service for the Division and for collection development of Chinese publications from Mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau.   10. Committee on Chinese Materials Guest Speaker Tao Yang. East Asian Librarian at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey since 2007 and is responsible for the collection development and public services of the Rutgers East Asian Library. Prior to his current appointment, he was the Public Services Librarian of the Yale University East Asia Library for four years. Since he became a professional librarian, Tao’s research and publications have been focusing on the traditional and “new” media as both information resources and communication tools for the libraries.
