  5. CATCHINGCatching Video • If you are facing the ball as it is approaching you above waist height, form a triangle with your two hands, palms out, placing the tips of your thumbs on opposing hands together and the tips of your index fingers on opposing hands together • If the ball was thrown low and you will have to make the catch below waist height, your pinkies should go together, palms up, with your thumbs facing outward. • Reach your hands out towards the ball and catch it with your fingers away from your body. Be sure to use your fingers and not your palms. Keep your eye on the ball the entire time. HOME

  7. DRIBBLING • Soccer Dribbling • Keep Ball Close to the Body • Eyes on Ball • Use the Inside and Outside Part of the Foot • Start off SLOW then as you get better begin to move faster. HOME

  8. PASSING • Side Foot Pass • Keep Head Down with Eyes on the Ball • Non-Kicking Football along side the Ball • Inside part of the foot(shoe) strikes the middle of the ball. • Keep ball on the ground for a more accurate and easy to handle pass. HOME

  11. BALANCE • Keep your feet shoulder-width apart, with your shooting foot slightly ahead of your non-shooting foot. • If you're right-handed, your shooting foot is your right foot. If you're left-handed, then your shooting foot is your left foot. • Make sure your entire body is aligned jjjjjjjjjjjj at a square to the basket. HOME

  12. ELBOW • Cock your elbow back to a 90° angle and look at the back of your wrist. If you can see wrinkles, then you have your arm in the correct position. • Rest the ball on the pads of your fingers with the center of the ball on your index finger, then place your guide hand on the side of the ball and make sure that it doesn't slip underneath the it. • You will not be using that hand to help shoot the ball - it is there to make sure that the ball doesn't fall off of your hand before you shoot it and nothing more. • Click Forward Finger for Pictures HOME

  13. ELBOW HOME

  14. EYES • Choose a target - it could be the front of the rim, the center of the hoop, or the basket as a whole, and focus only on that. Don't watch the flight of the basketball, or your hand as you release the ball. HOME

  15. FOLLOW THROUGH • Straighten your elbow and release the ball by flicking your wrist, which gives the ball some backspin. You should look like you're reaching into a cookie jar that is on a shelf above your head. • Make sure your guide hand stays straight and doesn't help to push the ball. • To add distance to your shot, simply add a jump. Do not try to push the ball harder with your arms. All of your power should come from your legs. • Click Forward Finger for Pictures HOME
