Flash – Morphing and Shape Tweening. You have designed some motion animation with the last lesson There is another type of animation – shape animation and this uses a different form of tweening called shape tweening It morphs a shape into something else.

Flash – Morphing and Shape Tweening • You have designed some motion animation with the last lesson • There is another type of animation – shape animation and this uses a different form of tweening called shape tweening • It morphs a shape into something else. • First you need to draw a shape in the stage area • We will use the Brush tool this time Click your mouse for next slide
Flash - Morphing and Shape Tweening • Pick a fill color by choosing the bucket and the down arrow to the right of it. Click your mouse for next slide
Flash - Morphing and Shape Tweening • Now pick a brush size by choosing a size from the list second from the bottom on the tools panel • If you wish, you can also pick a brush shape from the list in the bottom of the tools panel • You can leave it as is if you wish Click your mouse for next slide
Flash - Morphing and Shape Tweening • Draw a doodle shape like the one I did or in fact any shape you wish by dragging your mouse over the stage area Click your mouse for next slide
Flash - Morphing and Shape Tweening • Good now we need to draw the words we want this shape to morph into • Right click on a different frame in the timeline • Choose a frame a little farther down the timeline say about frame 20 • When you right click choose Insert Keyframe choice Click your mouse for next slide
Flash - Morphing and Shape Tweening • Now that we are on frame 20 we want to delete the shape we drew for the first frame because we want it to disappear and change into the new form • To get rid of it just hit the Delete key Click your mouse for next slide
Flash - Morphing and Shape Tweening • Now we are going to make the shape morph into some words • First make sure the default panel set is visible like you did in the last lesson (go to the Window menu, Panel Sets choice and choose default layout • Now choose the Character tab and drop down the Font list to choose the font you want Click your mouse for next slide
Flash - Morphing and Shape Tweening • Now choose the size of that font by using the slider bar shown on the left • You can also change the color of the font if you wish by opening up the color window in the little color box to the right of the slider bar for font size Click your mouse for next slide
Flash - Morphing and Shape Tweening • Now we are going to type the words. • Click once in the stage area to position your text but make sure to give yourself lots of room to draw the text frame • When you click in the stage area your cursor will change and will draw a frame with your cursor as the lower right hand corner Click your mouse for next slide

First we have to tell Flash that we want it to break these shapes apart so that they can morph into each other • Do this by going to the Arrow tool and then clicking once on your text • Then go to Modify and choose the Break Apart choice Click your mouse for next slide
Flash - Morphing and Shape Tweening • Now go back to your first frame by clicking it in your timeframe • Then change to the Arrow tool in the tools menu and click once on your shape to select it • Then go to the Modify menu choice and choose Break Apart just like did before Click your mouse for next slide
Flash - Morphing and Shape Tweening • Finally, tell Flash you want to draw the in between frames by telling it you want to shape tween • Do this by going to the frame tab in the lower panel and choose the shape tweening choice • Press Enter to test out your tweening • Save your file as an .fla file and export your movie to the same location Click your mouse for next slide
