2. Natural Resources Twisted Trail Island has many natural resources, including many different types of trees that can be used for wood and building things. It has millions of fish all around the island, both good and bad fish. It has coconuts, mangoes, papayas, pineapples, sugar, and lots of various types of flowers that are constantly being shipped away. Our island has many volcanic mountains, and lots of rough thick planted areas.

3. Money and Other Countries My island makes money by exporting our delicious fruits and beautiful wood. We import different foods and materials such as cotton, electronic materials, motorbikes, grapes, apples, pears and peaches, and lots of other things. Right now we are at peace with all of the surrounding lands. We have not yet fought a war. We happily trade and get along with everyone.

4. Location and Climate My island is located at 13.9 latitude -46.4 longitude. The climate is warm and sunny most of the year, but in about March through June it gets a little more rain than usual. The biome is a tropical forest. It has lots of trees and plants. It has animals like frogs, snakes, insects, monkeys, and lots of different birds.

5. Government In my island’s government, the people have most of the rights that the citizens of the United States have, plus a few more. The people can vote at age 18. The island does not have a president because it is so small, but it has a mayor that is elected every 3 years. A mayor can be re-elected as many as four times, as long as they are doing a good job and pleasing the people. The mayor pretty much handles most of the trading and communication with other lands. My island only has one city, Corneli. It is more like a small town than a city. It has everything that the citizens need. The rest of my island is the tropical forest or the shore. The people are all responsible for their own land, but a lot of the tax money goes towards keeping up the town. The mayor is in charge of the town, and the only overall ruler of the island. The government is republic, meaning that the citizens choose a ruler to make and enforce the laws.

6. Government The island has a court system where the people are free to come and put in an idea and the court system will vote on whether or not they should do something about it. The court is elected every two years, and each person may only run five times. The taxes are the same as the United States’. The mayor controls where the taxes go and what they are on.

7. Colonization The island was found in 1930, by David Callahan, age 36 at the time. He was going on a long boat ride exploring the unknown waters and came about the island. He named it Twisted Trail because of all the tight twists and turns it had in the paths. He claimed the island and moved his wife and five kids there, as a private retreat. 42 years later, David passed away, shortly after his wife. His four youngest kids were married with families, so his oldest son William took charge of the island. He did not want to keep the beautiful island from the world completely, so he sold parts of the island to carefully selected people, who he knew would take care of the island well. The only way to get to the island is by boat, or a small plane.
