“Teachers need to increase their knowledge about mathematics and pedagogy, learn from their students and colleagues, and engage in professional development and self-reflection. While many professional development activities inform teachers about mathematics or the teaching of mathematics, they may not attend to the importance of teachers learning from one another and engaging in self-reflection.” ~NSCM journal, Spring 2006 Mission Statement
