First notice à • Our identity as God’s people

You ARE the salt of the earth • You ARE the light of the world

First about WHO WE ARE, not WHAT WE DO • BEING leads to DOING

1) Salt • Two main functions of salt

1) Salt • Seasoning / Flavouring

1) Salt Colossians 4:5-6

1) Salt • Preserving • Preserve = to maintain in the original or existing state

1) Salt • We preserve righteousness

1) Salt • Read full vs13 • Are we walking out our calling in Christ?

2) Light • Jesus is light of the world • John 8:12 • So are we

2) Light • Lamp/candle • Candle is a small flame, but effective in darkness

2) Light • Let your light shine BEFORE OTHERS

2) Light In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
