Corey Climo Game Development 2009
Context • “Video games have more potential as teaching tools than people realize. There is now a large divide between games meant to educate and games meant to entertain. Somewhere along the line many educational games gave up being fun and games made to entertain gave up the opportunity to benefit there audience. • Can we make games educational and fun? This is where Tangential learning comes in. Studies show people assimilate information better when they study topics they are interested in rather than what they are forced to learn”. Needs/Opportunities/Constraints Needs: • Internet Access • Constant contact with my client • Access to programs such as game maker, fireworks, gimp ect • Knowledge and experience of game maker in advanced mode Opportunities • I am wanting to narrow down the concept of animals for the idea for my game as it is too broad. Constraints • I am aware the software available to use isn’t exactly high tech so I realise my final product isn’t going to be a full-scale game. I have also explained this to my client and they are ok with this. Corey Climo 2009
