Muriel Langley’s 90th birthday A celebration at Lidgett Park Methodist Church January 2014 Photos by Mary Patchett
Muriel Langley is a long-standing member at Lidgett Park, greatly loved by all who know her. The dinner to celebrate her 90th birthday was a very happy occasion.
Fred & Muriel invited the congregation to join them for the celebration
Peter Harper was master of ceremonies for the occasion. The minister, Andrew Atkins, appears to have been given the washing up to do.
Fred & Muriel’s son, Clive, came over from Vancouver for the occasion and made a speech.
Fred gave a speech of thanks on Muriel’s behalf, and she cut the birthday cake.
Irving Theaker amused everyone with jokes and reminiscences, and Pat Brooke reprised her priceless, spirited performance of ‘Nobody loves a fairy when she’s old’
The grand finale to a delightful evening was the performance of music of Muriel’s younger years by Rebecca Todd on trumpet and flugel horn and David Wilks on piano
We wish Muriel good health and happiness in the years to come.
