  2. Agenda • Introduction to version 2.0.3 • New Features • Known Limitations

  3. Notes • The content for this presentation was taken from the following docs: • LTRT-08223 400HD Series of IP Phones for Microsoft Lync Release Notes v2.0.3.docx • LTRT-xxxxx 400HD Series IP Phone with Microsoft Lync Administrator's Manual Ver. 2.0.3.docx • LTRT-11892 420HD IP Phone with Microsoft Lync User's Manual Ver. 2.0.3.docx • LTRT-xxxxx430HD and 440HD IP Phone with Microsoft Lync User's Manual Ver. 2.0.3.docx • The Above documents will be released together with version 2.0.3 during next week

  4. New Features In Version 2.0.3

  5. 430HD and 440HD IP Phones for Lync with Speed Dial and BLF support, in addition to the 420HD IP Phone that was already supported in Version 2.0.1 • Direct access to the Lync contact list – In previous version the IPP used LDAP to access the active directory (required special configuration). • Multi-language support. Korean and Chinese are now also supported

  6. Multi-Tenant (LHP) • Multi-Tenant (LHP) - Lync Server Multitenant Hosting Pack is a Microsoft Unified Communications (UC) hosting solution for telecommunications and hosting providers. The solution enables Microsoft hosting partners to deploy a single instance of the Lync Server software to securely and economically host multiple tenants with a rich, fully integrated UC solution. • For details, see the 400HD Series IP Phones for Lync Hosting Partner (LHPv2) Environment Configuration Note

  7. Generating MOH (Music On Hold) from the IP Phone • The IP Phone can be configured by the Lync server to play the MOH • Configuring Music on Hold (MoH) • If a user puts a call on hold in order to answer an incoming call or in order to make another call, the party put on hold can hear music played. The Play Music on Hold feature allows this. By default, the Play MoH feature is not enabled in Lync: • To enable the MoH feature in the IPP, you should configure the Lync Server with the following: • 1. In the Lync Server Management Shell, run the following command in order to view the current settings of the client policy: • Get-CSClientPolicyGlobal • 2. Note that the EnableClientMusicOnHold parameter is set to FALSE. Run the following command to set it to TRUE: • Set-CSClientPolicyGlobal -EnableClientMusicOnHold:$TRUE • 3. To prevent users from selecting or changing the music played on hold, run the following command defining the audio file: • Set-CSClientPolicy-EnableClientMusicOnHold:$TRUE -MusicOnHoldAudioFile <Audio file Path>

  8. Generating MOH (Music On Hold) from the IP Phone – Cont. • To modify the IP Phone MoH audio file: • Via the WEB GUI, please access VoIP->Services and set the MoH audio file URL: • Important note: • The MoH format could be: • WAV linear 16k 16 bit • WAV a/u law.

  9. Busy On Busy • When the Busy on Busy feature is enabled, the IP Phone will send a "Busy Here" message (SIP Message 486) upon an incoming call in case its presence is “in a call”. • To enable Busy on Busy on the IP Phone: • Access the Call Waiting screen (MENU key > Settings > Call Waiting) and press on Select • Select Busy on Busy

  10. Call park • You can park a call, i.e., you can transfer a call to a "parking lot" for it to be picked up on any other phone in the enterprise by a party who must dial a retrieval number in order to retrieve it on that phone. The retrieval number is configured in the Lync server's parking lot parameter. The system administrator can change the retrieval number if required. • Configuring Park Call in the Lync Server: • The IP phone lets users park a call, i.e., transfer a call to a "parking lot" for it to be picked up on any other phone in the enterprise by a party who must dial a retrieval number in order to retrieve it on that phone. The retrieval number is configured in the Lync server's parking lot parameter. The retrieval number can be changed if required. • To pre-configure Microsoft's Lync server for park call capability, see: • http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg399014.aspx • Refer to all subsections.

  11. Call park – Cont. • Parking a call via the IP Phone: • 1. When you're in the call, press the softkey and then navigate to and select the Transfer to Parking Lot option: • 2. The LCD notifies you of the retrieval number to dial to retrieve the call on another phone: • 3. On another phone, dial the retrieval number (878 in the example above); the call is pulled to that phone. • 4. You can pull the call back to the phone which it originally was on by pressing the Retrieve softkey.

  12. Group Call Pickup (GCP) • GCP capability lets an employee take a call coming in on a colleague's phone, on theirphone. If an employee in an open space hears a colleague's phone ringing and knows that colleague is unavailable, instead of having the call go unanswered and routed to Voice Mail, the call can be redirected and answered by the available employee. • Only employees configured in the Lync server's GCP parameter can pick up the call. • To configure GCP in the Lync Server: • To pre-configure Microsoft's Lync server for GCP capability, see: • http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj945645.aspx • Refer to all subsections.

  13. Known Constraints in Version 2.0.3

  14. Known Constraints In Version 2.0.3 • Version 2.0.3 includes the following known constraints: • After a long idle time, the end user may experience a slow UI response when pressing the first digit of the phone number they are dialing. • When the ‘Call Waiting’ feature is disabled, the Missed Calls list is not updated. • Comfort Noise is not fully supported when using G.722. • Transfer cannot be performed after toggling between calls. • Calls between the phone and the Lync 2013 mobile client (both Android and iPhone) cannot be established. • The Web interface is not completely Lync-optimized; some screens that are not applicable to Lync are still displayed. • Call Log information is saved to the phone file system once every 24 hours • 802.1x is not working when using EAP-TLS. • Voice Mail is supported from Microsoft Exchange Server 2010. • When the Lync server is set to Simultaneous Ringing, there is no indication on the phone's UI that the call was answered by another Lync user.

  15. Known Constraints – Cont. • Not all Known Constraints are published in the Release Notes document. Also, new issues revealed after the official release. • To get the full list of Field/Urgent issues please refer to the CMBU VI System: • Link to CMBU VI System: http://aclvi/CMBU/default.asp • Query Name: Lync IPP Field Issues • Query: (Incident.ProjectName = "/$/CMBU/IP_Phone/Lync") AND ((Incident.Category = "Field Bug" OR Incident.Severity = "Yes" OR Incident.Priority = "Urgent") AND NOT ((Incident.Status = "TESTED") or (Incident.Status = "PATCH_TESTED") or (Incident.Status = "PATCH_QA") or (Incident.Status = "REJECTED") or (Incident.Status = "QA")))
