What to research • History and Evolution of the Instrument • To which family does the instrument belong? • In which applications might one find the instrument? • Provide a detailed description of the production process. • Provide a short biography of a famous performer on your selected instrument.

Description of production • What is the main material used in making this instrument? • Is this instrument made in mass production or by hand; or a combination of both? • Where is this instrument produced? (country, or state if within US) • Approximately how many of this instrument are created in a year?

  5. biography • When was this person born? • When did this person die? • Where was this person born? • What, if anything, led this person to play the instrument? • Did this person have any formal schooling on the instrument? • Are there any influences listed? • Where does (did) this person live? • What type of music does this person play?
