You can solve for velocity when you are given a certain displacement and time. • For example: Johnny runs 13 miles West in .75 hours. What was his velocity? d13 mi West V = t V = .75 hours displacement = 13 miles West Time = .75 hours
If you are given velocity you can solve for distance or time.
Solve for displacement or time is easy when you use a formula triangle. d V = t d t V
To find the formula for displacement, you cover the d and you have the formula v x t So… d = vt d t V
To solve for time, you cover the t and get the formula d/V. So t = d/V d t V
