  3. Entertainment in Shopping Centres This now covers a wide aspect of leisure: 1. Restaurants 2. Bars / Coffee shops 3. Cinemas 4. Casinos 5. Health Clubs 6. Family Entertainment Centres / Amusement Parks

  4. Impact of Entertainment in Shopping Centres 1. Increases the potential number of visitors to the shopping centre. 2. Increases visitors dwell time in the shopping centre i.e. visitors stay longer. 3. Obtain visitor loyalty over other shopping centres. 4. Customers are likely to visit more frequently. 5. Some visitors who are initially attracted to the entertainment centre will also visit the shopping centre. The aim being to maximise visitors spend.

  5. Visitors Expectations 1. A choice of entertainment to satisfy a large age group. This will help attract more families to the centre. 2. Clean & Attractive environment. 3. Free entry to FEC / Amusement Parks – Trocadero London 4. Equipment is kept in good working order. 5. An efficient swipe system is beneficial. Visitors are not dependant on carrying cash to play machines. 6. Wii Factor – This has introduced a wide age group into playing games, so visitors are looking for entertainment to interact with friends and family.

  6. Investors Expectations 1. Investors are looking to make a profit! 2. Investors will require a lower rent than higher profile locations. An FEC / Amusement Park is normally located in a quieter location in a Shopping Centre – i.e. Atlantis. 3. Requires a good location with a regular footfall of visitors. 4. The location to be well advertised within the shopping centre. 5. Create an environment that is clean and friendly to attract families and a wide age group. 6. Employ experienced engineers to ensure machines have minimal downtime.
